Synchronicity played an important part in my finding Simple & Just. I have a much loved, 24-year-old daughter, and the idea of anyone’s daughter becoming entangled with traffickers is abhorrent to me.

I was actively looking for an opportunity to volunteer to support efforts to end human trafficking, a phenomenon I find deeply, deeply disturbing. When my husband and I walked past the papered windows of the Simple & Just store on Queen Anne Avenue, curiosity propelled me to research who our new neighbors might be.

It was the answer to my search…to find a local effort, established by a nonprofit veteran, Carolyn Quatier in my own backyard. I signed up to volunteer immediately and would encourage others to do so as well!
